This trilogy of blended malts explores one of the most important locations in the history of whisky, the Scottish island of Islay. The so-called Queen of the Hebrides is home to some of the most respected names in the whisky world. By combining single malts from these storied distilleries, independent bottler Elixir Distillers celebrates the peerless character of Islay whisky. Keep scrolling to discover the Elements of Islay range, beginning with the softly smoky Cask Edit and concluding with the dark, robust Sherry Cask.

Intensely peated whisky from Islay’s south coast married with a softer style from the north of the island. This expression is matured exclusively in sherry butts and hogsheads, layering smoky whisky with notes of dried fruit and dark chocolate. Inside Elements of Islay

Elixir Distillers launched the first Elements of Islay bottlings in 2008. The iconic label was first used to market Islay single malts, all offered at full cask strength and approved by an influential figure in the whisky industry. 2016 saw the launch of the first Elements of Islay blended malt – simply called ‘Peat’ – which laid the groundwork for the trilogy of whiskies we’re enjoying today.

With a history of distilling stretching back to the 14th century, Islay is famous for its characterful and often heavily peated malts. In 2018 Elixir Distillers announced the building of a new distillery on Islay’s south coast. When it comes online, Portintruan will become the island’s 11th active distillery following the re-opening of the legendary Port Ellen.
