An impressively-aged Cuban rum from Santiago de Cuba, 11 years in oak have amplified the fruity, tropical character of the sugarcane molasses. The palate offers notes of cinnamon, green banana, black pepper, caramel, vanilla, grilled pineapple and coconut that linger in the finish.

An eight-year-old Jamaican rum from Hampden that offers aromas of banana, mango, cinnamon, vanilla and caramelised apples on the nose, that are echoed throughout the palate.

Aged for 8 years in bourbon casks, Ron Sostenible's dark rum is produced from sugar cane juice, and fully aged in the Dominican Republic. This sustainably produced spirit is equally at home when sipped or in cocktails, and has complex notes of vanilla, caramel, orange peel and oak spice.

A spicy, characterful Haitian rum, the 2018-vintage Clairin Casimir offers notes of ginger, lemongrass, mixed herbs, liquorice and green grass throughout the palate.

HMS Princessa is made from a blend of rums aged between five and nine years in casks that previously held bourbon. With delicious notes of raisins, vanilla, honey, Caribbean spice, oak and crème brulee, this is a wonderful introduction to the Admiral Rodney range. Admiral Rodney was a brilliant naval strategist who famously broke the French line at the Battle of the Saints, something which enabled Britain to dominate the Caribbean. HMS Princessa was one of the first ships to engage with the French in this battle.

El Dorado 15yo is a remarkable rum, whose greatest achievement was collecting the Wray & Nephew Trophy for Best Rum in the World at the International Wine & Spirits Challenge for an unprecedented four years running.

A handsomely presented decanter-style bottle of Plantation Extra Old rum from Barbados. The rums are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks then transported to the Charente (home of Plantation's owner, Cognac producer Pierre Ferrand) and undergoing a second maturation in small French oak casks.

A Nicaraguan rum from Flor de Cana that is both carbon neutral and Fair Trade certified, this rum is distilled with 100% renewable energy. Aromas of nutmeg, hazelnut, caramel and pepper fill the nose, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, caramel, roasted hazelnuts and cinnamon throughout the palate.

A limited-edition 2014 Australian rum from Transcontinental Rum Line that was distilled in Queensland and initially matured in Australia for five years, in American oak casks, before being transported to Europe for a further two years aging in ex-Cognac casks. Aromas of baking spices, oak, cinnamon, dried apricots, raisins and sultanas fill the nose, complemented by notes of apples, mandarins, garden herbs, sage, cherries, liquorice, vanilla and rose petals throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.

A classic British Navy style rum, Pusser's Gunpowder Proof rum has rich notes of treacle, toffee, honey and vanilla throughout the palate, alongside oak, cinnamon and ginger. Taking its name from the naval tradition of providing sailors a daily ration of rum, distributed by the Purser – or Pusser. The Pusser would dispel any complaints of watering down the rum by wetting a pinch of gunpowder with the rum and attempting to light it. If the mixture ignited it was "proof" that the rum was strong enough.
